Two more videos of the 2018 season

We managed to produce videos from two more of our 2018 season tours – the one from Iron Gate and The Stone Arches, as well as the video from the last of the Secret Carpathians series, which took place in October and was conducted for customers of 4WD Travel from the Netherlands.

While Iron Gate tour had just a few sunny days and turned out to be the rainiest of the 2018 tours, SC 4WD was conducted in perfect October weather and was perhaps the most enjoyable tour of the season. Take a look what these tours looked like!

Iron Gate and the stone arches

A 4×4 journey along the Danube, the cradle of Europe

It was the Iron Gate gorge on the banks of the mighty Danube river where Lepenski Vir civilization sprouted 7000 years ago. In the meantime many have passed through those jungles, making a living from the big river, and building trade routes along it. During the demanding offroading tours some of our guests called this biggest continous forest in Serbia “Serbian Amazon jungle”. No wonder – passing along it is very similar to an exotic jungle adventure! Rocks protruding high above the Danube offer some amazing scenic points, and wandering inland reveals hidden river valleys, canyons, caves and waterfalls. And of course, the famous stone arches of eastern Serbia!

Recovering lost roads

A journey through east Serbia in spring 2015

Nature is changing faster than we can imagine. A forest trail that we once passed can be lost overnight due to a landslide, or deteriorate beyond usable state very fast due to excessive vegetation growth or fallen trees after extreme storms. If not regularly used, a forest trail can become unrecognizable and completely disappear in less than 5 years. So a collection of GPS tracks is only good if it’s made up of regularly inspected, and updated trails.
