Winter is always a time of intense activity when it comes to writing and producing multimedia material from previous season, so this one is no exception. In the past month we’ve made several attractive videos, of which probably the one that will draw most attention is the Albanian Wild Tracks 2021 video:
Take a look how we’ve played around in the snow of Beljanica mountain during January 2018 while preparing the trails for our Balkans Snow Trails tour – we’ve just put the video on-line:
Almost any winter tour organizer will tell you that you can’t take part in his winter tour without snowchains. That they are the key factor to traction and mobility in various extreme winter conditions. And they are right to a certain extent. They provide that necessary security advantage when it comes to driving in groups in winter conditions.
Serbia, not Siberia… But there’s not much difference!
When the wind starts howling, wave after wave of snow blizzards encase the Kučaj mountains in white, everyone flees them as fast as possible, knowing that they can be stranded there until springtime. Everyone, except us. That is when we pack up our winter recovery gear and engage on the snowdrift surfing tour through that vast kingdom of the wolves… And when we conquer Kučaj winterscapes, it’s time to move over to western Serbia, for a whole different flavour of snow adventure! And inbetween our daily ice games, we’ll bask in the warm thermal pools and enjoy the spicy Serbian cuisine. There’s no better way to experience the Balkan winter!
This February has been a very active month for us. First we’ve (in cooperation with Rustika Travel) successfully conducted Serbian Snow Adventure, and a week later visited our friends from Jeep Club Romania (AJCR) who celebrated their 4th anniversary in Baia de Fier in the Carpathians, from February 12th to 14th.
Winter has come a bit early this year. Kučaj and other higher mountains of eastern Serbia have seen their fair share or snowflakes before December even began. So we set out to carve our way through virgin snow. This is what we’ve experienced.
